12 countries to perform at the fifth edition of Easter Theatre Festival this year

Twelve countries, including hosts Malawi, will perform at the fifth edition of the Easter Theatre Festival to be held at Jacaranda Cultural Centre in Blantyre from March 22 to March 24, 2024.

Spearheaded by Solomonic Peacocks, the festival will feature over 41 acts offering theatre, poetry, standup comedy, storytelling and dance, among others.

Solomonic Peacocks Director McArthur Matukuta promised nothing but thrills this year saying the festival has, over the years, helped in bringing forex in the country.

“We are bringing foreign exchange in the country with performers from France, Germany, Portugal, South Africa, Rwanda and Tanzania,” Matukuta said during a presser in Blantyre on Tuesday.

Running under the theme ‘Your talent matters, create, inspire, enjoy towards 2063, the festival will feature acts such as Kwathu Drama Group, Young Travellers, YDC, Africa Dance Group from Tanzania and Patsime Trust from Zimbabwe.

The French Embassy to South Africa, Lesotho and Malawi has also supported French group Compaigne du Hasard which will also perform in schools for free.
