Easter Theatre Festival 2024 Summary
We are thrilled to announce that preparations for the 5th edition of the Easter Theatre Festival (ETF) are in full swing! Over the past year, the festival has grown tremendously, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our achievements with you.
In 2024, we welcomed an incredible 700 attendees at the Jacaranda Cultural Centre (now Alliance Française) and reached an impressive 7,000 live viewers through our Facebook livestream. The ETF transcended geographical boundaries, captivating a global audience and fostering a vibrant community of theatre lovers.
Our social media presence has also skyrocketed, with over 170,000 comments on our Facebook page and our follower count soaring from 1,800 to 10,000 during the festival. This remarkable engagement highlights how the ETF continues to attract and inspire a growing, diverse audience.

The 2025 Easter Theatre Festival will take place under the theme “Celebrate Culture Through Theatre”, and we’re aiming even higher this year!
The festival venues include the Blantyre Cultural Centre (once renovations are completed), Alliance Française de Blantyre, and the Amaryllis Hotel—offering a variety of spaces for everyone to enjoy, engage, and express themselves.
We are honored to host talented artists from Malawi, South Africa, Mozambique, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Spain, Norway, Zambia, and France. Welcoming this diverse group of performers is a true privilege, and we can’t wait to showcase the incredible art and culture they bring from their countries.
